Optional Skill Pack
Claude Code users: replace "Follow seo-audit-runbook.md and begin the audit" with
/seo-audit.
Install the playbook skills
Playbook release 2026-11-06.1. Check the live release and download hashes. Updating the website does not refresh an existing agent session or an earlier local download.
The playbook's two analysis variants and three helper skills are available on GitHub. Install them for Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex:
npx skills add BigChrisCooke/seo-playbook-skills --skill remove-ai-slop-without-removing-ctas-and-good-marketing-copy trend-scan claim-check ai-seo-better-than-corey-haines schema-markup-better-than-corey-haines
Select your agent in the installer. This installs into the current project;
add --global for all projects. You'll need Node.js/npm and Python 3.10+.
The Python helpers need no pip packages or API keys. Restart your agent session
if the skills are not yet visible.
- Remove AI slop without removing CTAs and good marketing copy — humanize AI-written SEO blogs, SaaS content, and marketing copy while preserving calls to action, product links, offers, brand voice, positioning, and proof. Includes a Python conversion guard and prose rubric.
trend-scan— analyze Google Search Console CSV exports for organic traffic growth or decline, monthly click trends, ranking losses, declining pages and queries, and traffic concentration risk.claim-check— support fact-checking, source verification, content freshness audits, and SEO report QA by flagging outdated statistics, pricing, versions, feature claims, and missing verification dates.
Browse on skills.sh · Individual and manual installation. Manual installs must include the whole skill folder, including scripts and references.
Published analysis variants
ai-seo-better-than-corey-haines(skills.sh): verified sources, crawler distinctions, and reproducible AI-visibility samples. Save evidence asskills/ai-seo.md.schema-markup-better-than-corey-haines(skills.sh): dated eligibility checks, validation evidence, and separate valid/eligible/shown states. Save evidence asskills/schema-markup.md.
Install the other three analysis dependencies from Corey's repository:
npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill programmatic-seo site-architecture competitors The upstream comparison-page skill is now /competitors; keep its audit output at skills/competitor-alternatives.md. Existing audit files keep working. The optional orchestrator below supplies the sixth analysis checklist. For the standalone runbook, install upstream seo-audit as well.
Verify the complete installation
From the audit project, install the full skill folders, including scripts and references. Download check-skills.py and run python check-skills.py --project . --standalone. Omit --standalone if using our orchestrator. It checks all eight dependency packages, hashes our five published packages, and runs the Python helpers with --help. Missing claim-check is caught before delivery.
After installing or patching skills, start a fresh agent session and confirm the verified paths. The old editor is now remove-ai-slop-without-removing-ctas-and-good-marketing-copy. No local schema-detector patch is required. SXO and drift require the complete upstream repository and managed setup. Add --with-sxo and/or --with-drift plus --seo-bundle "<bundle>" to the checker; both runtime and Chromium must be ready. Follow the download’s setup instructions and verify a rendered fetch and a saved baseline/compare before marking those steps complete.
Install the optional orchestrator
- Download the files from the Files section below into a
skill-pack/folder, keeping the layout (skills/seo-audit/SKILL.md+ the installer +check-skills.py). - Open a terminal in that
skill-packfolder. - Run the installer — it backs up any existing
seo-auditskill, installs the orchestrator, and reports incomplete dependencies, including helpers, and exits unsuccessfully until the complete-package check passes:
Windows (PowerShell)
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File install.ps1 macOS / Linux
bash install.sh Manual
Copy skills/seo-audit/SKILL.md to:
- macOS/Linux:
~/.claude/skills/seo-audit/SKILL.md - Windows:
C:\Users\<you>\.claude\skills\seo-audit\SKILL.md
Verify
Open Claude Code and run /status. If installed, /seo-audit appears in the skill list.

Prerequisites
- Claude Code installed
- The 5 analysis skills (programmatic-seo, ai-seo-better-than-corey-haines, site-architecture, schema-markup-better-than-corey-haines, competitors) — the orchestrator invokes these during Phase 2; the package checker verifies them and the three helpers. Sources: the two repositories and install commands above. The orchestrator is the sixth piece itself: it folds the SaaS-gap checklist in and supersedes the standalone
seo-auditanalysis skill. - The runbook and methodology in your working folder: runbook · methodology
- Playwright MCP connected (
claude mcp add playwright npx @playwright/mcp@latest) - Squirrel Scan CLI installed
